Wellington Pool

Telford & Wrekin Council has invested £8.5 million to create an enhanced civic centre in Wellington. The scheme includes a new reception area with a café which leads to a new state-of-the-art library and registry office. Also as part of the scheme major repairs and improvements were made to the existing concrete swimming pool.

Volkerlaser was commissioned by Telford and Wrekin Council to survey the structural condition of the concrete swimming pool. The survey highlighted the concrete was severely damaged by chlorides and was in urgent need of repair. In order to prevent further damage the design and installation of a cathodic protection system was proposed.
