Structural Concrete Alliance shortlisting for Woodhouse Tunnel

Recent

VolkerLaser's prestigious Woodhouse Tunnel project has made the shortlist for the Structural Concrete Alliance award at the Concrete Society Awards.

Woodhouse Tunnel

A major exercise in logistical expertise

As a major artery and vital piece of infrastructure within the centre of Leeds, Woodhouse Tunnel - which carries the A58(M) beneath the busy city centre - sees over 75,000 vehicle pass through every day. Our largest contract to date, this exercise in logistical expertise saw VolkerLaser deliver a wide breadth of works to a vital piece of infrastructure, working purely at night.

Commended for its innovation and variety of specialist strengthening solutions used, the project has already enjoyed success in the Project of the Year category at the Construction News Specialist Awards earlier in 2016.

Celebrating excellence in concrete

The Concrete Society Awards are now in their 48th year of celebrating excellence in concrete. The winning entry will be announced during a ceremony held on the 17 November 2016.

VolkerLaser previously won the Structural Concrete Alliance award in 2014 for the Ryde Pier project, where the team worked collaboratively with Mott MacDonld to install a bespoke designed cathodic protection system.
