VolkerLaser takes site safety back to school

Recent

VolkerLaser went back to school last week to talk about the importance of site safety. On Tuesday 19 June 2018, Shonagh Patterson, site manager at Stockbury Viaduct, visited Lansdowne Primary School to explain what measures we take to keep our site staff safe whilst at work.

Joined by Dave James from AOne+, Shonagh described the need for correct PPE, the site specific safety measures in place at Stockbury and showcased a range of health and safety posters currently used on sites across the UK.

Following the presentation, the pupils were invited to take part in a competition, creating a brand new site safety poster based on the information they had learnt that afternoon. All posters will be collected on Friday 6 July 2018 and the winning poster will be selected by a judging panel of VolkerLaser and AOne+ staff.

Shonagh said: “The children were already coming up with some amazing designs, so I’m really excited to see some of the finished pieces next week.”
