Last week, VolkerLaser hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning at our head office in Worcester, an event that brought colleagues together to support a great cause.
The team baked and shared a huge selection of goodies, ranging from cookies to cakes, and everything in between. Some of the team brought in their traditional dishes, such as a South African Malva pudding, and frankfurter sausage rolls, which were an adapted version of a traditional Bulgarian snack. During the day, colleagues raised an amazing £180, which goes towards Macmillan’s effort in providing support to those living with cancer.
Each year since 1990, thousands of people across the UK take part in the coffee mornings to support Macmillan, raising more than £290 million since its beginning.
Managing director, Ben Joyce said: “Hosting a Macmillan’s coffee morning was a great opportunity for colleagues to step away from their desks and engage with each other over a cup of coffee and a cake, or two, whilst showing their support for the charity.”
Just before the Easter break, we organised an Easter egg collection for The Myriad Centre in Worcester.
