VolkerLaser win at the Concrete Society Awards

Congratulations to the VolkerLaser team who were awarded the ‘Repair and Refurbishment Project of the Year’ from the Structural Concrete Alliance at the prestigious Concrete Society Awards on Wednesday 21 November 2018 for their work at the King George Docks, Hull.

The repair and strengthening works, provided by VolkerLaser, involved the use of concrete repair, sprayed concrete, cathodic protection and Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) strengthening to provide a unique and innovative solution for the client, Associated British Ports (ABP).

The Concrete Society Awards celebrate excellence in concrete across the UK. Keith Barrow, Regional Director said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won this award. It is a fitting recognition for the whole team who solved our valued client’s problem by collaborating with our specialist designer and developing innovative permanent and temporary works solutions that complemented each other. The site installation team have delivered a quality product which has provided new life to the quayside and will keep it operational for many years to come.“
